I began writing seriously as I was nearing completion of my Ph.D. Over the years, my short fiction and creative non-fiction has been published in literary magazines. Before entering the monastery, I wrote pieces for a monthly radio broadcast. After leaving it, I wrote memoir about my experience, Rough Grace: Inside the Invisible Cloister of Benedictine Community, which remains unpublished. Lately my writing energy has gone into plays.
